The Sweet 16

The Sweet 16

You might think that the Sweet 16 is just the last few teams in the NCAA basketball tournament, but it's also the key to going to college. Taking 4 years of math, 4 years of English, 3 years of lab sciences, 2 years of social sciences, 2 years of the same foreign language and 1 year of fine arts or CTE can lead you to your own personal championship.  Here's some more details on each subject area and how to make sure you have a strategy for success.

Deficiencies

Sometimes you may not be able to complete the Sweet 16, but that does not mean that you can't attend college.  In Arizona, you can be admitted to one of the three universities with up to two deficiences, but they cannot be in the same subject area, and they cannot be in a combination of math and science.
If you have a deficiency, meaning you are missing a class because you did not take it or earned less than a "C" grade, you need to retake that course during the summer or through another method (online, etc.).
