Course Deficiencies

Course Deficiencies

A deficiency is a course that is required as part of the Sweet 16 course requirements but is not completed.  Students applying to Arizona universities can be admitted with up to two deficiencies (meaning two courses not completed) total; however, they may not be from the same subject area, nor may they be from both math and science.

Two examples of students who would not meet these criteria are:

  1. A student who has not taken either of the 2 years required in the second language category.
  2. A student who has only completed 3 years of math and 2 years of science.
