Everything that students study in grades K-5 prepares for middle school, and middle school prepares them for high school. Arizona has standards that each student has to meet at each grade level.

What is a well rounded education?

"Courses, activities, and programming in subjects such as English, reading or language arts, writing, science, technology, engineering, mathematics, foreign languages, civics and government, economics, arts, history, geography, computer science, music, career and technical education, health, physical education, and any other subject, as determined by the State or local agency, with the purpose of providing all students access to an enriched curriculum and educational experience."

An early love of learning and self-confidence in their academic abilities help students face the challenges that stand between them and their goals.

Parents are in the best position to firmly guide young students toward their academic potential. If your children enjoy learning and see that it pleases you, they will look forward to college as an opportunity to continue that learning.

Your grade point average (GPA) is the sum of all your course grades throughout your high school career divided by the total number of credits. Most high schools (and colleges) report grades on a 4.0 scale. The top grade, an A, equals a 4.0. Here’s a simple chart that shows how to convert your letter grades.
