For most people holding a college degree greatly improves their standard of living. On average, the more education an individual has the higher their earnings are and the lower the rate is of them being unemployed.

Research suggests that the more education you have, the happier you tend to be.
In a survey that utilized data from the U.S. General Social Surveys, 94% of people with a bachelor’s degree or more reported feeling happy or very happy with their lives overall.
On average, graduates experience less unemployment. The unemployment rate for individuals age 25 and older with at least a bachelor’s degree has consistently been about half of the unemployment rate for high school graduates. – College Board
What skills learned in college will future workers need? Employers of college graduates look to them for the following abilities, according to the National Association of Colleges
and Employers:

In addition, because college challenges students and requires consistent effort on their part, a degree can signal that a student has the following characteristics that employers look for:
